Turn Down the ISO!

So, I went out tonight to take a bunch of skyline and Christmas light pictures. When I returned home and downloaded the photos I realized that I had forgotten to change my ISO from last weekend's hockey shoot. So these were all shot with an ISO of about 2000. Thus this was the only one that was at all presentable.
Better luck next time I guess.

@maxine: Thanks, it is almost better to get something decent out of a lousy picture than to have a really good one right out of the camera ;) Well, almost.

Sometimes the hazard gives us good surprises! This is one indeed. I like the blurri vision of the skyline and the night lights as the photo shows them here.

we have all done that at one stage or another ;-) still this shot looks pretty good with excellent light and exposure... i like how the buildings seem to clustered really close to each other and you did well to leave a lot of space to the sky as it is quite a good backdrop here...

@DarkElf: Thanks, the sky was one of the reasons I took it as there was a lot of low cloud and thus reflection of the city lights. It happens quite a bit here in winter and it is an interesting effect.

@Cat: Ha, ha. Thanks! It worked for me everywhere except the dark stuff where there was too much noise. I cropped most of that out.

@Denise: Thanks, most of the picture actually turned out the way I had hoped. I cropped out most of the dark stuff. The downtown core is not very big, but Calgary is one of the larger cities in NA by area. It is very spread out.

haha i know the feeling - i really get annoyed at myself when i do that! this still looks fantastic though and if you hadn't had said anything i probably wouldn't have noticed all that much!

@Kathryn: Thanks, it was more the frustration for all the ones that didn't turn out well. This one I was able to crop out the worst of the picture.
