@Denise: Thanks, there were some very interesting dead trees around here. I'll have some more pictures with them here before I'm done.

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks. It was a marked trail. We were at a place called Island Lake which is in Mount Fernie Provincial Park. The trail was quite good although very narrow at times, but certainly nothing dangerous.
